Placing Mobile Broadcast Units on 30 Campuses Nationwide
Grand Island, Nebraska College Fanz Sports Network, the world's largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, today announced plans to televise 500 college football and 1,500 basketball games live in 2010-2011.
"We are building upon the solid foundation established this year with the inaugural season of our College Fanz 2009-2010 NAIA Football and NAIA Basketball Game of the Week broadcasts." said Rasmussen, founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of College Fanz. "The dedication of the teams and the enthusiasm of the fans I saw on campuses across the country were absolutely electric. This nationwide reaction led us to expand the universe of events that can be viewed live by the students, fans and alumni of hundreds of colleges and universities."
According to Rasmussen, 30 campuses will be selected to host a Mobile Broadcast Unit for the 2010-2011season. "The College Fanz Mobile Broadcast Unit on Campus Program will provide an unprecedented educational and professional opportunity for college students planning to work in the burgeoning sports industry," he explained.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Jonathan Sanchez approached his outing Friday
night realistically. After all, he had emerged from a demotion to the
bullpen to make his first start since June 22.
"I didn't think I was going to be out there very long," Sanchez said.
He lasted just long enough to make history.
Merging improbable circumstances with impressive pitching, Sanchez
recorded the first no-hitter of the 2009 season in the Giants' 8-0
victory Friday night over the Padres.
Only a one-out fielding error in the eighth inning by third baseman
Juan Uribe separated Sanchez from a perfect game. "It's [part of] the
game," Sanchez said. "It can happen."

It was probably three years ago I had my famous run in with "hater" on the VSN message board. For those of you who missed it, it involved a camera, a smoothie and a really sarcastic attitude by yours truly. The run in with "hater" was just one of many run-ins I have had over the years with some of the more ambitious or self serving anonymous message board users on the site.
I love the message boards and I love the comments from day-to-day about the world of the NAIA. I've spent almost every waking minute of my professional life studying small college athletics and working in it from day to day.
But there are many whose attitudes towards life in general affects all of us when we go onto a message board or even visit with a local small college. Ironically enough the real world refers to these people as "haters".

Featuring Players from 50 Different NAIA Programs for April 25th Gridiron Showcase
Grand Island, Neb. March 25, 2009 -- The initial rosters for the 3 rd annual College Fanz/Victory Sports Network NAIA "Senior Classic" have been released. Players range from 50 different NAIA schools from states across the country.
"This is an extremely talented group of football players," said Jason Dannelly, Director of NAIA Relations for the College Fanz Sports Network and founder of the annual football showcase. "This is easily the highest concentration of first team, second team and honorable mention All-Americans that we have ever had compete in this showcase event."
The College Fanz Sports Network's Senior Classic will pit 120 former NAIA football players against one another in a showcase of talent and character. The game kicks off Saturday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time in Platte County R3 High School's Pirate Stadium in Platte City, Missouri.
Highlighting the offenses are first team All-American running backs Nick Banks of Minot State University and Greg Fountain of Campbellsville. Fountain led the NAIA in rushing with 1,726 yards total (and 156.9 yards per game), while Banks was second averaging 143.8 yards per game. Zach Morrison, an offensive lineman from Shorter College, and Ian Gilworth, a quarterback from Morningside College, round out the second team All-American participants.
