OBU, AUM MAKE IT A RECORD

Justin Williams big three with seconds remaining put a cap on a record-setting first round, sending Oklahoma Baptist into the second round of the bracket after the third overtime game in the tournament’s first two days. Those three overtime games were a first-round record in the NAIA tournament, which had seen two overtimes in the first time four times, most recently in 2005. Mountain State topped Olivet Nazarene Wednesday in double OT, and Point Loma Nazarene closed the first day with an overtime win over Southern Nazarene that stretched into Thursday morning.

This is the final top 25 until the completion of the conference tournaments. There was a decent amount of changing in the poll this week, including a new number one. Northwestern held the spot for many weeks, but dropped a close finish to Morningside dropping them from the top spot.
