Former Villanova and Duke forward Taylor King will not end up attending USC this fall and is instead headed to NAIA school Concordia.
King had told FOXSports.com earlier this month that he would be transferring to the Pac-10 school, where he'd have to sit out this season and would have one year of eligibility left.
"It didn't end up working out," King told FOXSports.com on Wednesday.
King originally chose to attend USC over Azusa Pacific and Concordia, two NAIA schools in California where he'd be able to play two seasons.
But King would have had to pay his own way this season at USC, and that would have cost him roughly $50,000.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound native of Huntington Beach, Calif., averaged 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 32 games last season for Villanova, which reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.

(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) If someday the Princeton offense dominates the landscape of basketball in the country of China, sports historians will look back to the summer of 2010 when a college coach from Santa Barbara introduced the concept to a group of 100-150 Chinese coaches gathered in Xian'an China.
In an event sponsored by the Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA), Westmont's John Moore and seven other American coaches conducted training sessions for many of the countries' top collegiate coaches. The American coaches were divided into two teams of four and asked to present two clinics a day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the evenings, the Chinese teams competed in a tournament.
"I have a dear friend named Ken Wagner who is the BYU-Hawaii athletic director and men's basketball coach," said Moore. "He has been going over to China for 10 years working with CUBA. They have summits every year. I had no idea how large these events are. It is attended by the top universities and colleges in the country of China."

FORT WORTH, TX: Former Texas Wesleyan University basketball player Jamel White set a new HITS (New York Pro-Am League) single game scoring record by pouring in 87 points as his DDN/Sean Bell All-Stars wiped out BSC All-Stars 130-102 on August 10.
White scored 26 points in the first half before going for 33 in the third quarter (also a HITS record). That put him within easy striking distance of Kenny Satterfield's scoring record of 68 points set in 2008. White converted his 69th point on a free throw with six minutes to play and went on to demolish the record.

SHAWNEE - Oklahoma Baptist University's A.J. Hawkins caught a quick pass from his teammate and set up for a 3-pointer. The ball swirled out of the senior's hands and swished through the net as the game-winning shot that earned the NAIA championship for the OBU Bison men's basketball team March 23. As the Bison's celebration began, Hawkins could imagine his father cheering louder than anyone. But his dad and namesake wasn't among the jubilant family members at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.

Kansas City, Mo. – No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist
University received balanced scoring, including a game-high 21 from AJ
Hawkins, to defeat No. 13 Azusa Pacific University (Calif.), 84-83 in
the 2010 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National

fortunate enough to get this job, I owed it to the program, to Bob

to try to win a national championship and not just be a good program,"
said Oklahoma Baptist head coach Doug Tolin, who was named Rawlings-NAIA
