Pikeville picked to win Mid-South Men’s Basketball title in 2015-16

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Pikeville (Ky.) edged second-place Georgetown (Ky.) in the 2015-16 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll, conference officials announced today.

Pikeville secured 60 voting points from the conference coaches, including four first-place votes to top the preseason poll. Georgetown is a close second with 59 voting points and four first-place votes of its own.

Pikeville shared the MSC regular season title with Campbellsville (Ky.) in 2014-15 with identical 12-4 marks. Georgetown finished a game back with an 11-5 conference record last season.

Campbellsville ended third in this season's polling with 49 voting points and the final first-place vote.

Cumberlands (Ky.) is fourth in the preseason poll with 44 voting points. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) checks in at fifth with 34 voting points followed by Life (Ga.) with 32 voting points.

Cumberland (Tenn.), Shawnee State (Ohio) and St. Catharine (Ky.) complete the nine-team conference. Cumberland garnered 20 voting points while Shawnee State and St. Catharine finished with 17 and nine points respectively.

The Mid-South Conference regular season begins Nov. 19, with the MSC Tournament set for March 3-6 at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
