DEFENDING CHAMPION LSUA TOPS 2015-16 RRAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PRESEASON POLL

WACO, Texas – In its inaugural season last year, LSU Alexandria was the RRAC men's basketball regular season co-champion and the RRAC tournament champion. One year after they were picked to finish fifth, they are the conference coaches' top choice in the 2015-16 RRAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll. The selection was unanimous with the Generals receiving all 10 first-place votes.

Three all-conference selections return for LSUA head coach Larry Cordaro including Defensive Player of the Year Brian Sylvester and Newcomer of the Year DeAngelo Coleman.

The subsequent selections were closer with LSU Shreveport picked second, four points ahead of Langston and Our Lady of the Lake, which tied for third. LSUS returns four starters including two all-conference performers, Lyndale James and Jesse McWright. Langston will be led by guard Curtis Jones, who was fifth in the conference in scoring and second in steals last year. OLLU, which tied the Generals last year for first in the conference, lost two seniors who were first-team all-conference selections.

Wiley and Southwest landed in the fifth and sixth spots, which means the coaches have projected them to land the final berths in the RRAC's six-team postseason tournament . The 2015-16 regular season will tip off on Oct. 28 with conference play beginning on Dec. 3. The RRAC Men's Basketball Tournament will be held at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, on March 3-5.
