| My money is on defending champ Union with FHU/TNU finishing second. |

Did your opinion of the outcome of the conference race change through the pre-conference play? _________________ Purple Pride |

| I don't think we (Union) are as consistent as we need to be to dominate and there are 4-5 other teams that can win it. I don't think anyone will dominate and it will come down to who gets on a run late and wins a big road game. |

Union dominated tonight over Bethel in a must win 78-64
Cumberland surprised with a road win at Lyon 72-59
Trevecca surprised with a home win over Mid-Continent 87-74
Blue Mountain and Freed Hardeman were snowed out
Cumberland must have added players to get that win. They were terrible most of the year. Trevecca winning isn't a surprise, but not by that margin. If you are Union you can't lose to Bethel. |

| The Trevecca men seem to have played well against Mid-Continent. From others comments it would appear that this was a bit of a surprise win by Trevecca. |

Not very much, if any.
My pre-season list would have looked like this....
1. UU/FHU
3. TNU
4. MMC/Mid-Continent
Right now, it looks like....
1. UU
2. FHU/TNU
3. MMC
4. Mid-Continent
I'm not real sure what to make of FHU and TNU. FHU has some good wins, but they've also lost some games they should have won. They won in Lebanon today without two starters (Brown and Bingham). That's a good confidence builder. TNU looked good early but, like FHU, had a string of tough games. It could be a dogfight for #2.
I also think Mid-Continent is a lot better than their record makes it look. They've played a tough schedule so far and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat some teams they "shouldn't" in conference play. |
